Providing learning solutions through
collaboration since 1927
In 1927, Dr. Charles K. Taylor founded Educational Records Bureau (ERB) with a mission:
To create testing and learning solutions that would help schools develop improved curriculum based on results, thus helping students gain a better education.
Dr. Taylor met with some of the most distinguished educational leaders of the time to help gain a better understanding of how to put his mission into practice. Those leaders included Dean Hawkes and Eugene R. Smith, as well as Ben D. Wood, who went on to become the Director of ERB in 1933. ERB’s popular ISEE fee waiver program is named in honor of Dr. Wood.
Today, we’re proud that over 80 years later, we’re still achieving Dr. Taylor’s mission through new technologies, advanced testing programs, and consulting services. Our offerings are available to nearly 2,000 public and independent schools and districts in 47 states and 52 countries.
