Preparing for the CPAA
CPAA is an achievement test designed to measure young children’s knowledge and comfort level at their current stage of development, ,ERB does not recommend test prep. The CPAA provides the most useful results when students take it without any advanced preparation, other than normal classroom instruction. This approach helps assure an accurate assessment of a student’s strengths and weaknesses in specific areas to guide next steps of academic instruction.
Tips
- Be sure your child is well rested prior to testing. A good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast will help your child concentrate better.
- Ask if there is anything your child may need prior to test day.
- Give yourself plenty of time to get to the school to avoid rushing and causing stress for the student.
NOTE: While tutoring may be available through outside resources, due to the purpose of CPAA, ERB does not endorse the use of tutors for this assessment.
