ERB’s Writing Practice Program (WPP) provides students with 24/7 access to an easy-to-use, web-based program for unlimited writing practice with immediate feedback. The system is password protected and offers users secure access from any Internet-connected workstation.

When used in conjunction with results from the Writing Assessment Program (WrAP), the online writing practice program can help teachers customize writing interventions for their students, who receive immediate feedback on the results.

Program Highlights

• Five program levels (Elementary, Intermediate, Middle, Secondary, College Preparatory) provide information on the development of student writing from Grade 3 through 12.
• Five modes of discourse (narrative, informative, expository, persuasive, and critical thinking) are developmentally sequenced following recommendations by the National Council of Teachers of English.
• Student responses are analytically scored on six elements of writing, using a six-point scale for each.
• Immediate feedback enables students and their teachers to gauge areas of weakness—and view helpful tutorials in minutes!
• Online access to each student’s portfolio allows teachers to track writing improvement and progress.
