What are the grade levels and basic elements of the CTP?
The CTP provides useful information about student performance in grades 1-11 in achieveing essential academic standards in listening, reading, vocabulary, writing, mathematics, and science*. In addition, CTP assesses verbal and quantitative reasoning in levels 3–11. The combined measures can be used to compare more content-specific, curriculum-based indicators of performance (scores on the achievement tests) to the more conceptual knowledge base that helps to gauge potential and support school achievement (scores on the reasoning tests). This comparison can prove highly useful, especially for students whose reasoning and achievement scores exhibit marked discrepancies.

For what grades is the CTP program available?
The CTP covers 10 levels—from the spring of Grade 1 through the fall of Grade 11. To find out what level you should use, please refer to the CTP 4 Recommended Usage Chart.
What kind of information can the school expect after testing?
CTP score reports provide robust information on the student, class, and school level to help inform teaching and learning. Comparative information to national, suburban public, and independent school norm groups, as well as local norms chosen by the school are also available. Reports such as the Individual Student Report, Class Roster, and Administrator’s Summary reports are available to help administrators and teachers identify students’ strengths and weaknesses. Parent reports are among the various report options available to schools. To find out more detailed information on reports available with the CTP and CTP Online, click here or refer to the ERB catalog.
How soon can we expect to receive our CTP 4 results?
Test papers will be scored within 15 business days upon receipt for multiple choice only, and 20 business days if the optional constructed response sections in reading and math are also taken. Please note that no scoring is done in February or August to facilitate the updating of norms.

Are accommodations for non-standard testing available?
The school may grant non-standard administration for students who receive test accommodations under an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), Section 504 Plan, or who have a documented disability that necessitates testing accommodations. All of the standard CTP reports and norm choices are available for non-standard test administration. There will be no indication on the score reports of a non-standard administration.
All of the standard CTP reports and norm choices are available. Those taking tests in a non-standard manner will appear as separate class rosters; there will be no indication on the score reports of a non-standard administration.
ACCOMMODATIONS NOTE: If the test is administered with accommodations (non-standard) and you want the scores reported separately, a separate Order for Scoring Services (OSS) form needs to be completed with those non-standard papers. However, if you want to include the non-standard and standard administration papers together after the appropriate accommodation has been provided, you should submit the papers together under one OSS for the grade. All reports and norm choices are available for non-standard test administration; and there will be no indication on the reports that it was non-standard administration.
