Testing Accommodations
ERB will make every effort to accommodate students who are unable to take the ISEE under standard conditions due to a documented disability.
Requesting Accommodations
The review and approval process for testing accommodations can take approximately one week once your completed accommodations request is received. Approved accommodation(s) are valid for 15 months from the date of approval. Any accommodations that your student receives are not flagged on the ISEE Score Report.
Create account and request accommodations
If your student is eligible for accommodations, create or log in to your parent account online, add your student, and select "Request Accommodations" on your student's dashboard. You will receive an ISEE Accommodations Request Form at the email address associated with your parent account—you may need to check your spam folder.
Upload supporting documentation and current school statement
Follow the instructions in the ISEE Accommodations Request Form that you received via email. Upload the required supporting documentation and current school statement—completed by your current school—to your student's dashboard for formal review.
Register for a test offering your accommodations
Once your student is approved for the requested accommodation(s), you may register for a test offering your approved accommodation(s). We cannot guarantee that every test site will offer all of your student's approved accommodations. To avoid rescheduling fees, do not register for a test until after you have received your accommodations decision.
Eligibility
We make every effort to accommodate students who are unable to take the ISEE under standard conditions due to a documented learning difference or other health impairments. To receive testing accommodations, eligible students must demonstrate the following.
Students must have a diagnosed disability that necessitates accommodation(s).
Students must have complete and current documentation that establishes a need for the requested accommodation(s).
Due to a disability, students must be granted and utilize the requested accommodation(s) on a regular basis in their current academic setting as a necessity for demonstrating true aptitude.
Students recovering from a temporary disability such as a broken arm or concussion do not qualify for testing accommodations on the ISEE. Please consider testing at a later date.
Supporting Documentation
Accommodations requests are reviewed in the order in which they are received. All accommodations requests must include supporting documentation. Requests are not reviewed until both a copy of the supporting documentation and the current school statement form have been received. These documents may include one or more of the following. For additional document requirements, please request an accommodations request form.
A complete psycho-educational evaluation dated within the last three years.
A district-issued IEP or 504 Plan from the current calendar year.
A school accommodation plan from the current calendar year (based on testing within the last three years).
A letter from a medical doctor if the accommodations are required due to a medically-treated issue (some types of chronic disease), a physical disability (legal blindness, deafness, paralysis, etc.), or other condition treated with prescription medication (such as ADHD).
Current School Statement Form
Page 3 of the ISEE Accommodations Request Form must be completed, signed, and dated by the student's current school. Once this form is complete, upload it to your student's dashboard in your online parent account.
Accommodation Availability
Not all accommodations can be offered in every testing environment or test format. Students who are approved for accommodation(s) should register for a test that offers their approved accommodations. For more detailed information about each accommodation, go here.
