A Comprehensive Inventory of Students’ Social-Emotional Skills

The inventory of the CASEL competencies measures social and emotional skills within various contexts, giving educators valuable insights to help students navigate their environment.

Data to Identify Individual Student Support Needs

SelfWise measures social and emotional skills that can directly impact student outcomes, helping educators identify strengths and areas for improvement, and support students accordingly.

Trend Analyses at the Student, Grade, and School Levels

SelfWise gathers data to identify trends and support initiatives that foster a positive and healthy environment where students can thrive in the classroom setting and beyond.

A Measure of Factors That Can Impact Student Learning

Schools can see a correlation between academic achievement and students’ social-emotional skills with a data visualization tool in ERB 360 Access and develop a whole-child approach to education.

ERB recommends administering SelfWise twice each school year: once in the fall and once in the spring.

On average, SelfWise takes students 15 minutes to answer 45 multiple-choice questions.
Students choose a rating from a scale as they respond to a series of statements aligned with the CASEL competencies.
Items and scenarios are worded positively to avoid negative ideation.
